The administration has officially reversed the proposed faculty cuts. We are currently shifting our focus to monitor the implementation of the new budget review process to ensure these positions remain protected.

Hey y'all!

This petition is simple! Sign here to let the APPIC know that we as students do not approve of their "Shape of the College" recommendation to cut the 140 faculty and staff from Ithaca College expected to be let go this Spring!

Here is an Ithacan Article explaining the draft if you have-not yet read it! Basically, Ithaca is cutting over 100 professors and programs from our college in the middle of a deadly pandemic. Not only is this not okay, it is dangerous and irresponsible in the middle of an economic, health and safety crisis!

We believe these cuts are not and SHOULD not be inevitable!!!

Please do your part and sign! We MUST use our voices as students!! We cannot stay silent! Let's show IC that they cannot just fire our professors, many of whom have shaped and enriched our college experience!

Stand up for your professors!! Let's do this!!!

The volume of support has secured us a formal meeting with the Faculty Senate representatives to discuss the APPIC recommendation. I am currently drafting a briefing document that outlines our primary objections to these staffing cuts for that session.

The IC SLT's decision to push forward with the APP "Shape of the College" plan is a continued demonstration of their anti-labor, anti-union, and anti-working class history that spans decades, both before and during President Collado's time. It is our duty as students, alumni, and community members to stand in solidarity with our faculty and staff at this time.

I was a dedicated staff member at Ithaca College for 27 years and was "asked" to retire last June. My department and I had no warning and I had 2 days to decide what to do.

Stop the APP. Austerity is not the only way. Please do not get rid of our professors, please sit down with us, open the books, and have a discussion rather than holding meaningless, closed webinars. I am saddened that I feel unable to recommend that anyone go to IC because of the way the admin is handling things. Please find another way to save the school

Signing for Mirit Hadar and Jennifer Herzog- the Jewish community will not stay afloat if Hebrew is eliminated- the Jewish minor will be slowly leaving and our Israel club now has no advisor for the club to continue...

I love my professors and they have definitely made a big impact on my academic and personal life. They are the best part of our college. Ithaca needs to be transparent about financial records instead of letting our beloved professors go!

IC, once again, is choosing profit over lives. This time, during a deadly pandemic, and also while adding multiple 6 figure administration positions. Students don’t need more administrators. They need their teachers. Ithaca College’s continuous heinous acts against their faculty (from president to President) will be the downfall of the school. Should they succeed, it will be run into the ground.
