We should teach our children to protect & love all life - not just cats or dogs. We certainly shouldn't teach children it's okay to kill animals, it's not.

I find this absolutely appalling and I taught school for 30 years. I taught my students to respect all life. This sickens me.

How incredibly inhumane and insensitive. It's acts like this that set children on the road to having no compassion or empathy for others.

This is irresponsible behaviour on the part of the school and the teacher, and a horrible message to the students. Animals should not be used like this to supposedly "teach" in the first place when there are alternatives like farm sanctuaries where respect for life could be taught. If for some reason (and I doubt there is one) that they *must* raise the ducks, they should have an adoption to a no-kill situation in place before they start the project. On the other hand, if they are trying to teach denial, detachment and cruelty, they are on the right track. :(

What a horrible mixed message to send to kids and a very cruel and inhuman attitude for the teachers and school admin to have. Let the ducks go to safety in a sanctuary, and the school has to stop taking in animals like this. Instead take the kids on field trips to sanctuaries and teach them respect for living things.

Who came up with this idea? This is a HORRIBLE thing to do to both the ducks and the children. Would you introduce your kids to a puppy and then serve it as BBQ? Seriously. This is stupidity at a whole new leve.

There are many other ways to take care of these ducks than killing them for food! It's also horrible letting children get attached to them and then feeding the ducks to them for lunch!!!!
