Raising birds in Trail is against the by law isn't it?? How can Crowe get away with it anyway? Or is it just chickens?

Going Vegan from eating meat is a difficult process but think of how difficult it is for the animal. They all just want to be loved, and respected and have a strong desire to live. Leave them off your plate.

:( This is so sad. I can't believe there is even a need to sign this petition! How are any of the parents of the kids at this school okay with this sort of practice? How is this teaching the children anything good? *sighs* This school should lose more than just their right to have ducks.

Teaching pet eating and how to not be responsible for pets we take on under our care is really not something I think is valuable to teach kids. If you're going to take on a pet the responsible thing to do is to be sure you can care and nurture them for the rest of their days, not come up with some lame excuse about not able to look after them over the summer. No wonder the spca's are so full of abandoned animals. Teach compassion and responsibility of pet ownership or don't bother the the ducks again!

What a horrible thing to subject these kids to. It also teaches them to not respect the lives of animals.

How many times did you go and feed these ducks?? If you didn't raise them you don't get to decide what happens to them

You aren't very sunshiney. These ducks were in fact called our pets. And students adored them from the day that they got to our school. This issue is real, and I have about 529 people and counting that agree with me

I'd be furious if my kids had had anything like that take place in their school. Totally wrong in so many ways.

How about teaching our children compassion, empathy & respect for life. Wouldn't that be more worthwhile lessons than raising & slaughtering animals that they've grown to love? Or are serial killers what you're aiming for by numb in them to respect for all life?

It was so wrong to kill our past ducks that so many people had bonded with and named and loved. Save these new ducks!

It's our job to protect children's inherent compassion with these valuable opportunities to teach them that all lives matter!

I think it's a bad lesson to teach youth to love something only as long as it's convenient to you. I think it's also bad to train them to ignore the feeling of compassion and grief for unnecessary killing.
