If sign language was taught in high schools, kids who can hear would have a greater opportunity of learning sign language and putting it to use. A simple conversation of sign language with a deaf child can make all the the difference in the world. To those of us who can hear, this seems so small, but to those who cannot, it may make all the difference in the world. It is time we start to realize the importance of knowing how to sign for our benefit, but especially for those around us.

my brother is hard of hearing and kids at his school are so mean because they dont get it. this would really help change things for people like him.

its a shame we learn french or spanish but ignore asl. should be an option for every kid everywhere.
