Final supporters
Our desire to move to a contemporary navy siding (Marine Blue by Royal Estate) was rejected by our board due it being considered a "dark color" that is out of harmony with the rest of the subdivision. There are several reasons we believe this color will be suitable. 1) There are others who are selecting darker colors therefore this will not be an anomaly 2) Other sub-divisions within the Lakes have incorporated dark and bold colors therefore it suits the overall neighborhood 3) there is a precedent for dark color being permissible (dark green present at the end of Alamo St NE).
There are no regulations for the homes along 118th Circle therefore full conformity will never be possible. If you agree we should have freedom to select the darker more contemporary color, please sign this petition so we can prove to the board we have the support of our neighbors to move forward.

Outer ring of homes not restricted by a sub-HOA are able to select dark siding hues of their choosing.
I am fully in support of new and different colors that would diversify our neighborhood and make it less cookie-cutter and monochromatic. It will add richness to the area.
There are homes in the Lakes with navy siding and they look beautiful
We plan to switch to a darker color as well and agree that if there are multiple houses in the neighborhood with darker colors it will not be disruptive to the aesthetic of the neighborhood.
Love the navy blue and totally support the color!
I totally support the request for the marine blue siding and believe the denial by the board was unsubstantiated and did not take into consideration current trends and the broader Lakes community.

I support the petition. I don't pay my association dues so that any one individual on the board can dictate how my house looks. As long as the choices are tasteful and conform to the overall look/style of the rest of the Lakes, we should by able to choose whatever color we want.
