I think this is a great idea! She was one of the people Pope Francis singled out as an example for Americans.

Staten Island always remained a consistent source of inspiration for Dorothy Day, she gave much-- and made the island her home.

I'm inspired by Dorothy Day and all of you who have taken a moment to consider and sign this petition. Please share this petition with friends and family who believe in the importance of recognizing a historical female SI peace hero!

It's great to honor out borough's war heroes but we should also recognize our borough's peace heroes!

While I live in New Hampshire, my parents were born and raised in the Bronx. I know Dorothy Day and fully support this petition to name a ferry after her. She loved Staten Island. I hope one day the Catholic Church will fully name her a saint. Thank you. Shawn Donovan

You will get international attention for this. Beginning here in Paris, but in no way ending here.

It would be very appropriate to name a ferry after Dorothy Day.

What an excellent way to remember an important New Yorker, who represented a lot of what is best in the City.

This would be justice for her home being illegally destroyed.
