What a wonderful tribute to a woman who was linked to both Manhattan and Staten Island!

As archivist for the Dorothy Day-Catholic Worker Collection at Marquette University, I heartily endorse this petition.

She may be considered for saint-hood. Since her home was torn down, and there is no local monument to honor her, that i know of, i believe this would be a good idea

Let's honor someone whose good work for peace and charity continues to this day.

It is about time that we honor the true heroes of Staten Island. this woman was a true pioneer in the fight for the poor and underprivileged. We couldn't save her home from the bulldozers of a builder looking to make a profit off of Staten Island land, so we at least owe her this honor.

She was the embodiment of a strong female who lived for others.
