Yes

Yes, having so many trained SRO officers, per certain ratio of students -that carry- has proven to be a deterrent to keep students and staff safe. I don't think it is a teacher's responsibility to carry.

Please keep Oconee safe. High academics is great but our kids safety is more important.

Would like to see officers in the schools. I would also like for you to consider those that have their concealed carry permit be able to have their weapon also.

Officers are needed on school campus.

As a former school administrator, I enthusiastically endorse this concept.

I fully support this initiative as long as the guards have mental evaluations prior to service and extensive law enforcement experiences.

I have two sons who go to Oconee County schools. One at OCES and one at OCMS. As more and more school shootings happen I am living in constant fear that it is getting closer and closer to home and it is just a matter of time until I get a phone call about it happening here. Some of these others schools where these shootings have happened have had the same reactive measures in place and shootings are still taking place. I believe by having an officer in place this can greatly reduce our chances of it happening here. We are one of the best educational systems in the state now let’s make it one of the safest as well.
