I really never pictured that so many people from the neighborhood would be this fired up about the Shops on Steeles project but looking at these comments today is honestly blowing my mind because it proves I am not the only one stressed about those tall buildings. It feels like the tide is finally turning and even though my brain is spinning with all this planning stuff it is just so cool to see us all on the same page.

Even architects think this is going to be a disastrous eyesore. The infrastructure cannot sustain 59 storeys worth of people. People, not profit.
Steeles is already a parking lot during rush hour. Adding five hundred new units is just insane. Where do they expect everyone to go?
The local schools and roads cant handle this kind of density. Its way too much for our neighborhood.
Totally ridiculous plan. Who approved this??? The traffic on Steeles is a nightmare already and this will break everything permanently.
6 stories is plenty. KEEP IT LOW. These developers just want to cram as many people as possible into a small space to make a quick buck. Not here.

One giant number that stood out to me in the proposal is that this project would take 30 years to complete. 30 years! 3 decades! Traffic is already horrible on Steeles Ave. I can only imagine the congestion and traffic when constructions.
