The petition below will be sent to Chuck Mulvenna, President & Chief Operating Officer of Safeway Canada.
Dear Mr. Mulvenna,
We the undersigned entreat you to reconsider the change in Safeway\'s policy regarding the sale of your discounted gift cards to Preferred One Inc. for their Shop and Support fundraising program.
Safeway\'s decision to prohibit groups and non-profits from purchasing discounted Safeway gift cards through Preferred One\'s Shop and Support fundraising program has damaged a great fundraising opportunity for the vast majority of our groups and non-profits across Canada who faithfully shop at Safeway.
Your website states, \"Safeway and our 30,000 Canadian employees share a passion for supporting the people and communities that we share. We buy Canadian, demonstrate environmental leadership and donate $15 million annually in charitable contributions. Safeway supports a broad range of charitable and community programs, such as cancer research, education, food banks and programs focused on assisting people with disabilities.\" http://www.safeway.ca/default.asppage=community
This statement is one of the very reasons why many of us have been loyal customers of Safeway. We are a part of these communities and as such are confused as to why Safeway would support the charities indicated while restricting participation by local
The petition has now reached two hundred and fifty signatures. This level of engagement demonstrates that many people value the Shop and Support program. I intend to bring these numbers to the attention of Safeway leadership soon.

Fix this please. It makes no sense to punish us for trying to raise a little extra cash for our groups.

Been a customer for 20 years. Never thought they would pull a stunt like this. Stop being petty and let the charities get their money.

Why stop a program that helps the community so much? Safeway used to be the go to place but now I am having second thoughts about shopping here.

This is ridiculous. Such a slap in the face to all the local schools and clubs that rely on this to keep programs running. Do the right thing.

TOTAL CORPORATE GREED. Cutting off funding for non profits is just shameful behavior.
