There needs to be a difference stated between MSSA & Semi Auto weapons as both weapons are completely different.

We need to have an unbiased inquiry into why this individual managed to acquire a license through the police. A buy back scheme could cost the tax payers half a billion dollars and still drive firearms underground. Under the bill of rights act 1688 that is recognized by the imperials 1988 act ,it mentions the right to bear arms under the law and this bill was last used against muldoon in 1976 to find his actions in parliament illegal

A blanket statement like "banning semi autos" is a bit ignorant. If they knew what they were talking about they would realize that statement includes most pistols and shotguns. Shotguns which are used by a lot of duckshooters. Instead of a blanket ban perhaps look more closely at the person acquiring the weapon instead of the firearm itself, as which happens with E-cat licences.

Need to find out what is the most effective way from preventing these events from happening and what led to this event happening and how could it have possibly being prevented.

The problem is not with the guns the problem lies with the people who use these guns. So, the people should be regulated but not machinery.

Stricter regulations on gun ownership will not prevent another such incident. Why make it harder for honest, law abiding citizens to obtain the means to protect themselves from an armed madman? There is an old adage, "Remember, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.
