Let's do this right. Changes will absolutely need to be made, but let's make the right changes for the right reasons, and let's not just do it for partisan political mileage with a baying and grieving public.

Blanket bans are ineffective. Let's look at tighter licensing and how the offender was able to hold a lisence

Fully support this, don’t let the mass murderer get what he wanted. Nz shooting comunity is the most diverse and most welcoming and treats everybody as new zealanders regardless of color, shape or accent (including the jokes without the patronizing “we will treat you special because you are a foreigner” - everybody is treated the same). THAT must have driven the psycho completely nuts in his hate

Our gun laws are among the best in the developed nations, rather than looking aimlessly at penalizing responsible firearms owners, which is what this psycho wanted as stated in his ramblings, what should be focused on is how e-cat magazines were obtained (x30 & x100 round magazine), who around him enable this to transpire? Online purchase or associate with e-cat license? And why do we let overseas (an Australian) purchase weapons here if they have not had a stable foundation and history, confirmed background. Its just not right that a foreign agitator comes and dumps his negativity here and we start jumping as he attended us to do.

Please do not allow the act of one madman to change the rights of thousands, then he would have won.

If the law is to change it is only right that it is to be done the right way. Its not our fault. ( law abiding gun owners ) that this gun owner got a licence here in nz

I request a public inquiry into the heinous Christchurch shooting and into the Police actions in granting the alleged shooting a firearms license. The shooters history public history while overseas and his manifesto compared to his actions raise questions about his motives for this attack and who financed him. This person may have been a sponsored by a unknown global actor. Please find out the truth. Do not make any hasty decisions concerning New Zealanders right to own firearms without consultation.
