As neighbors of the Shinnecock Nation we are concerned about the impact a 76,000 sq ft casino will have on the Shinnecock’s reservation and on our beautiful town of Southampton. We are looking to work with the Shinnecock Nation to find mutually beneficial solutions for both the Shinnecock Nation and the Hamptons community.

A casino of this size would be an absolute nightmare in an area with a single, 2-lane access road. We support the Shinnecock tribe but urge them to find a more suitable location!!

After listening to local tribal leaders it’s important that all levels of government and local residents advocate for, and engage in, a productive dialogue resulting in a mutually beneficial solution. This is mission critical for the Shinnecock community and all other east end residents.

Had they searched for ten years, they could not have come up with a worse location. I am in favor of development, but it needs to take into account the surrounding area. This is wrong for the community, wrong for traffic, wrong for the environment, wrong for development. In fact, there is nothing right about it. Pave paradise, put up a parking lot.

We support the Shinnecock Nation and understand that the Shinnecock Nation deserves the right to conduct it's own business affairs but if it will significantly affect in a negative way the community at large, they really need to find another suitable location. I, too, would join in assisting in helping them find another suitable place for a casino.

I support the Shinnecock nation capitalizing on their land for the benefit of the Nation. I would like to see the Casino located in a way that considers minimizing the traffic impact, ease of access/egress and maximizing the # of visitors.

Where is the State Assembly on the ratification of S6128 before them?
