Sherrill Lindsey worked at Woodland as a BIT (also helping with academic interventions) when Toni was our Assistant Principal. She was thorough, fair, intelligent, respectful, and she showed great leadership skills beyond her role. She assisted teachers in culturally reposive methods, and kept race at the forefront of our conversations. She currently works as an assistant principal at Earle Brown Elementary. I have been hearing so many stories from teachers about the positive impact Sherrill had on our classrooms and staff culture. The school board has been quiet so far but I am continuing to reach out to them directly about why she is the right fit for Woodland.

Seeing this level of support for Sherrill feels incredible because I know firsthand how much she transformed our classrooms. The momentum we have built proves that Woodland is ready for the kind of leadership she brings every single day.

Sherrill Lindsey is exactly what our building, staff, students and families need. Having been at Woodland since it's doors first opened I have seen lots of changes, some for the better, and some that have negatively impacted us. Sherrill is open-minded and ready to examine the problems that are holding us back as well as to take action in solving them. I feel very strongly that she deserves the opportunity to interview for the principal position at Woodland Elementary.
Sherill is exactly what Woodland needs. She cares about all aspects of the students education. She has the energy and leadership that is desperately needed at Woodland. AND she's not afraid to build relationships with parents and talk to them! This is huge gap at Woodland now. Parents want to feel connected and I have no doubt that Mrs. Lindsey has the ability to do just that.
She will be a benefit to the entire Woodland community.
Sherrill is a great leader, and very equity-minded. She not only demonstrates positive qualities to students, but also to staff and families. She would bring great things to WD!
