Seeing one hundred people recognize that we have a perfectly good building ready to save these animals is overwhelming. My heart aches for the dogs and cats trapped in our current overcrowded facility, but your response confirms I am not alone in fighting for this solution.

I have spent my week looking into the eyes of the animals currently waiting for space that we simply do not have. The fiscal court remains quiet on the lease offer but we are keeping the pressure on them because every day of waiting puts more lives at risk.

The overcrowding is getting out of hand. please dont let these animals suffer because the court is being stubborn about a building.
Why waste my tax money on building something new when a building is already right there ready to go?? This makes zero sense.
SO SAD that animals are getting put down just because of 'lack of space' when the county can literally just pick up this lease. fix it already!!
Use the facility that is already built. We dont need to throw away cash on a construction project when these poor dogs need a place to stay now.
Common sense solution here. Let the county use the existing building and stop dragging your feet.

Stop the expansion plans and just partner with them. It saves us money and saves lives. win win.
