Shelters across the United States continue to kill healthy shelter animalsat an alarming rate (1 million) 48% of the shelters across the US are kill shelters.

No dog, cat, or any other animal should have to be killed to make room for more animals. Overcrowding in shelters is a problem, but euthanizing animals who didn’t find a home in 7 days is not the humane solution we should seek. Overpopulation isn't always the issue, animals may have behavior problems and the shelter cant deal with them anymore. This is not okay and they should do something to help their behavior rather than just euthanize the animals. Greenville county has lots of problems with over population and abandoning animals at the shelters is not helping. We need to encourage adoption, foster care, neuter and spay clinics, and responsible pet ownership.

Please sign the following petition to reform the current animal shelter practices:

  1. All shelters adopt a “NO KILL” policy.
  2. More funding towards shelters.
  3. Mandate neutering/spaying.
  4. Create stricter laws for retail pet stores that sells dogs.
  5. Regulate dog breeders and wage heavy penalties
