We the people of the United States of America, Demand President Obama to make all shelters in the United States no kill shelters. There are hundreds of thousands of animals killed everyday that are perfectly healthy and could be adopted if they had the chance. The only way any animal should be euthanized is if it is sick and then it should have to be taken for a second opinion from a vet that is not affiliated with the shelter in no way to keep healthy adoptable animals from being killed just for the purpose of getting a dollar from the city or county that is funding it.

I wake up every single morning thinking about the healthy animals being put down simply because a shelter needs to clear space. I have been spending my time researching local funding contracts to understand exactly why these facilities prioritize money over life. Your stories in the comments keep me going when the silence from the authorities feels heavy.

Seeing this grow gives me hope that we can finally end the heartbreak of losing healthy animals simply because space is tight. Knowing so many of you care about this as much as I do makes the struggle feel less lonely.

Yes President. Obama. It is 2015. And the American Taxpayers are extremely tired of funding Kill Centers when we were told we would be funding Animal Shelters. And it is time that you as our President worry about what is going on in our Nation instead of always being more concerned about what is occurring over seas. Do something for a change that will make billions of voters appald you. We can find homes for the shelter animals if you stop the puppy mills. Which are atrocities anyway if you check into them. Now Mr President. Make an executive decision that will save thousands of lives daily. We want it done.
These shocking kill shelters must be shut down...follow a spay and neuter program give the animals a chance at life they deserve it. It is totally wrong to kill animals just because they have no home. Even if they are ill they should be helped where is the compassion and care for all living things...please close these shelters..........
Thank you Ma'am I agree with every thing you have said and I am trying to do just that but I can't do it by myself I need all the people like you and me in the world and come together to make a change for the animals. I also have another petition on Ipetitions for mandatory spay and neuter laws, I also have them on my facebook page and also on causes and once I figure out the whole twitter thing they will be their also I am doing my best to make a change for animals. I will not give up I am their Voice.
I myself love animals and when I see post on face book it breaks my heart.i feel that no animal shelter should be a non kill shelter.No animal should be killed for no reason at all they are just like humans to.They have feelings to.So yes we do need to put a stop to all this and treat them like you would like to be treated.

It breaks my heart and I cried myself to sleep knowing and seeing extremely so many animals killed and murdered when they were healthy or with a medical condition that could have been treated and lived. The kill shelters are a SLAUGHTER HOUSE!!!! The kill shelters are MURDERERS!!!!

I love cats! And all animals! They should have to proper amount of time to be adopted not just euthanized like they we're nothing!
