Who is in prison the most? People who can not afford a good lawyer! The system was perverted by the entities implanted in our government to corrode and pervert justice.

Do not be silly! I'm not a government slave, I'm not their servant, the US government is created to work for me and serve me.

NO JAIL !!! Jail in general is atrophy, vestiges obsolete junky system - so-called "correction", a bunch of parasitic (above the law) "blue-blood" jailers on the neck of taxpayers.

With such a huge burden, this project should be left to a VOTE of the people who will be paying for it (Taxpayers). Common sense would indicate a shared jail.

More of such mutually shared County issues should be approached in this way ,this is a no brainer in economic good sense for both sides of our political divide.

Thank goodness crime and levels of incarcerations are dropping. We should be thinking about shrinking jails and using our money elsewhere. How about treatment for addiction? or medical/health care? Those facilities offer good jobs and help our own neighbors.

The massive tax increase new jail construction will require - and which will be over budget as all such projects end up- will undoubtedly cause some Greene County residents to lose their homes. Many families are just getting by. They simply will be unable to pay their taxes. Legislators' responsibility is to act in the interests of all residents whether they vote for you or whether they vote at all.

This proposed jail would cost about 500,000 per bed in a county where the average cost of a home is 150,000.Crazy .Also may be time for a new sheriff

I am AGAINST building a new jail. The population of Greene County is not growing, this is a foolish waste of taxpayers money and we should share a jail ! We share a community college with Columbia County, doesn't that say something about utilizing taxes and resources wisely?!

Please don't saddle Greene County with increased taxes and a larger prison. We are trending towards lower incarceration rates-- there is no sense in spending millions when a very good shared county option is available.
I strongly urge the Legislature to join with Columbia County to commission a feasibility study for a shared jail facility, which could potentially save millions of dollars for Greene County taxpayers. Thank you.

We cannot afford this jail as it is proposed.
