This jail is totally unnecessary and will be a blight on the community financially and culturally. It must be stopped

This is corrupt pork barrel politics at its worst. Why saddle us with huge debt, when rates of incarceration are falling?! Spend money on drug treatment and health/wellness programs for youth and elders.

Who needs a new jail? Spend some money on improving conditions and especially rehabilitation for prisoners in the ones there are. We'll all benefit in the end.

We should we pay for the confinement of people whose crimes were committed elsewhere?

A new jail is dumber now than ever as population projections have crashed into a demographic wall. Board out, don't nail us in to a 30 Year Debt Bomb!!

The process needs to have more public input not plannned behind closed doors. The cost is out of control. Stop the jail. We can share with Columbia county. Let’s spend some of this money on education in the county. Education of our youth is more urgent than a jail.

This jail will be very costly to Greene County in the long-run, it is a short-sighted plan. I want to see my tax dollars spent on pre-incarceration programs, money spent on mental health, anger management, addiction services, recreational programs for youth & teens, etc. On services which support people before issues get too hard to manage alone. Also, the proposed jail site is located on wetlands, which not only would be a structural nightmare, but also a detrimental one ecologically. Wetlands are extremely important when it comes to issues like flooding, they act like sponges and take up a lot of the displaced water, helping to prevent floods. Not to mention, the incredible wildlife that wetlands supports. This jail proposal seems like a desperate reach for growth in a sad industry. The argument for job creation is a bleak vision for the fine citizens of Greene County. I have family who have worked in corrections. It is a dangerous and depressing job with little room for progress. I believe our citizens deserve something better. Can't we be more creative in our job creation solution? Lets reconsider this jail plan.

The bigger local jail is to makes you to fear of the local judges – such as Satan worshiper Stephen Canfield, who violate the US Constitution, by restricting your freedom of speech. When the people fears the government, this is a tyranny; when the government fears the people, this is a liberty.

they live - you obey, they live - you the potential new jail resident, they live - you serve them, they live - they'll take your taxes, they’ll increase their salaries, they live - you pay, they live - you invest your own money to build their new bigger jail to keep you and your children "safe" in the new and bigger jail, they live - they'll keep their job. they live – you take their orders. they live – are you their slave? they live - and you can hang yourself in the new bigger cell.

Act now: NO NEW JAIL! or you will regret that in a misery for the rest of your days, and your descendants will hate you; no cries and no grieves over your graves. ACT NOW! Call your representative, call your legislator: say "NO" to the big local gulag! FIX THE JUSTICE FIRST! Correct the justice in all small town courts - FIRST! Reduce the number of so-called small town judges, centralize the system of judgment in Greene County. Justice for all and equality of judgments. Nobody is above the law - this is the law of any law.

I think the proposed estimated cost of the jail is way out of line with what is needed.

$50 Mill on a jail..that feels like a big number! Based on history at Ulster Jail--cost overruns are a given. Let's try to share jail with Columbia County. Put this out for a public vote or vote the hacks out of office!

Gregory Silly pushing heavily on a big business to earn more money to bring him more power - an unattainable tyranny, corruption, a lie. Local people in the Greene County moving out of New York - here is no future. Local residents will be replaced by Hondurasians, Costa-Ricians, Dominicans, Puerto-Ricians, replacement with immigrants who do not have rights to have RIGHTS, maybe $ 5 per hour without any rights. The locals will turn into cattle for BIGGER JAIL. Who’ll gets "MORE JOB"? - yes!, more money for the Greene County sheriff and his friends! House For Sale, For Sale, Business Relocation - Business For Sale. Poor for jail! Poor into prison! Am I sarcastic? I guess this is REALITY.

The bottom line: a large prison - more money for those to whom it belongs. Your children will fill it up, so they will keep it crowd and dense, you'll pay for it, 8.25% each time you do groceries. Is there nothing better to spend your money? Why not improve the infrastructure, the education system, bring more good business to the area, build advanced roads, bridges, environmentally advance buildings, robotic plants, increase the enthusiasm and prosperity of our children, a vision of good, but not evil. Do we need a big prison? the side of darkness, the power of demons? What is your side? You are not a puppet on the leash of an entity so-called government, with their personal guards, judges and their police reinforcements to keep them safe against you.

No! to new Gulags! No to concentration camps! No to gas chambers, no! to massive graves for those who lost their souls in vain. No! to massive over prescribing of psychotropic drugs such as Prozac and Ritalin. No to psychological manipulation! No dragging the Nation to the prescribed drug addicts and slavery.
