I wanted to create this petition to reach out to people so that we can all come together & give our schools sex & HIV education ! It was brought to my attention that Texas has no law requiring sex or HIV education. Texas is ranked to be the 4th state in US to have the most teen pregnancies. With that being said not providing this education for our students will just continue to leave students with no answers. How will they know about HIV , STDs, how to prevent from getting them and the consequences for if you do catch these diseases.Many schools just teach absence but telling students to not do something doesn't do much .. it just makes them blind on a topic that they should be taught about. I strongly believe that Texas should have a law guaranteeing that students will receive sex & HIV education.

abstinence only doesnt work and everyone knows it. keep the kids safe and just teach them the truth. glad someone finally said something.

My school never taught us anything useful and I ended up learning everything the hard way. These kids need real facts not just fairy tales about waiting. It makes me so mad that Texas is so behind on this.
