We are in opposition to Senate Bill (SB1) in the splitting of New Orleans East and the historic lower Ninth Ward. This violates Section Five of the Voting Rights Act by doing harm to the compactness, contiguity and commonality of interest of our area. Please cast your vote and share with others to do the same. Use Facebook and Twitter also. Thank you. To view bill go to: www.legis.state.la.us Under Bill Search, 2011 Extraordinary Session, click dropdown box HB and click on SB, in next box type in number 1, press view followed by "Text-Current" you will find the SB1 bill and maps.

Does anyone even look at these maps before they draw them? It makes zero sense to split us like that.

Total nonsense. They just want to carve us up so we dont have a real voice anymore.

Keep our neighborhoods together. We already deal with enough neglect down here without them trying to break us up for political points.

THIS IS WRONG. The Lower 9th has been through enough already. Leave our voting lines alone!

Stop messing with our district. We stay together.
