We, the undersigned, are opposed to your support of IN HB 1144. We do not believe that the construction of Transportation Oriented Districts are more important than our children's education or our town services. We strongly urge you to not only pull your support of this bill, but actively and publicly oppose this legislation.
Representative Reardon has not acknowledged our concerns about HB 1144 yet. Call her office today to demand that she prioritize our schools over these development districts. Tell three neighbors to do the same before the end of the week.

This is a horrible idea! After living in the region since 1986 I already see this plan being passed and then suddenly any monies vote in a school referendum will no longer be used for the school. Instead a train and TOD will be the priority. Good bye A school in Munster- we will be in a worse mess. Please do not endorse this!

How can we afford to spend so much money for so little return? You are doing more harm than good. Why is Munster leading this effort when clearly southern communities will see the benefit at our expense. Return on investment needs to be explained clearly.

Teachers, schools, and students need all of the funds allocated for education, plus more. Please don't shortchange them. Vote No on HB 1144. I'm from Munster.

Absolutely NO TRAIN in our neighborhood. We already have too much congestion, traffic and noise. Money would be better spent in our schools. Top schools are proven to be a draw into a community. Trains are not. Put money in our schools and keep trains OUT.

I feel this will hurt this small town then help. It will cause a nice quiet safe town to be vulnerable for more harm. In addition people's homes are going to be destroyed. Homes that have personal meaning to those affected.

I came to Indianapolis yesterday with the hope of meeting you. You were in committee meetings about education. I find it ironic that you are fighting for funding for education but at the same time endorsing HB1144 which takes 50% of towns tax base for the next 30 years and steers it to train and development. Shame on you.
