Not enough time to study

This system creates very limited time for studying the portions. Teachers rush up the portions by just surfing through the ppts and not making sure we understood the concept. There is so very little time to study for exams. I appreciate the initiative for the time needed for placement training but please create a system more bearable for us students

Completing **core subjects like programming courses within a one-month duration** is not practically feasible. Such subjects require adequate time for understanding concepts, practicing coding, and lab work. Managing **CIA-1, CIA-2, and skill assessments** within this short period will increase pressure and affect learning quality. Due to the limited time, students may focus only on exams rather than proper understanding of subjects. Hence, we sincerely request the management to **reconsider this new system** and allow us to continue with the **existing common semester pattern**, which is more effective and student-friendly.

We, the undersigned students of Saveetha engineering college, Thandalam, respectfully express our objection to the sudden implementation of the new academic system in the current semester, including batch division, course classification, and the Term I–Term II structure. This abrupt change has caused confusion, increased academic pressure, and mental stress. We had planned our studies based on the previous system, and the lack of clear information about batches, courses, and evaluation has disrupted our preparation and focus. We request that the new academic system be withdrawn for the current semester and that the existing system be continued. Any new system may be introduced in future semesters after proper orientation and sufficient time for students to adapt. We hope our concern will be considered in the interest of students’ academic stability and well-being.

Disadvantages of Block System in Colleges The block system is an academic method where students study one subject intensively for a long duration (several hours a day) over a short period of weeks, instead of learning many subjects simultaneously. Although it has some benefits, it also has several disadvantages. 1. Mental and Physical Fatigue In the block system, students attend long continuous classes for the same subject every day. This can cause mental stress, boredom, and physical tiredness, reducing concentration and learning efficiency. 2. Reduced Attention Span Students may find it difficult to stay attentive for 3–4 hours of the same subject. After a certain time, attention decreases, leading to poor understanding of concepts. 3. Learning Gaps Due to Absenteeism If a student misses even one or two days, they may lose important topics because the syllabus progresses very quickly. Catching up becomes difficult. 4. Not Suitable for All Subjects Subjects like mathematics, programming, and numerical problems require regular practice over time. Learning them in a short block may reduce long-term retention and mastery. 5. Limited Time for Revision Since subjects are completed quickly, students get less time for revision. This can affect exam performance and long-term memory. 6. High Pressure on Students Frequent assessments and fast syllabus coverage create academic pressure, especially for slow learners. 7. Teaching Challenges Teachers must plan long sessions carefully. Without interactive methods, classes may become monotonous, affecting student engagement. 8. Poor Knowledge Retention Students may forget the subject easily after the block ends because there is no continuous reinforcement throughout the semester. 9. Difficulty in Balancing Extra Activities Students may find it hard to balance projects, internships, extracurricular activities, and self-study due to intensive schedules. 10. Not Effective

This 45 days enrollment system is very stressed and mental pressure. And this very short period of time for semester. We could not able to focus on the subject with the hurry. My suggestion is 65 days days enrollment system is better for good mentality of learners. I requested to change this system.
