We, the undersigned, respectfully require that the Seattle School Board vote no on the proposed revision of Board policy around Seattle high school student newspapers. The proposed revision would severely curtail the ability of student journalists to report on, and about, issues that concern their high school lives, opinions and outlooks. We support guidance from both the teacher adviser and the school's principal but believe that, like under the old policy, students should have the final say and take full responsibility for their writing.

 We urge you to vote no on the new policy and return it to the Curriculum and Instruction Committee.
