The lights in my neighborhood blind night vision while driving and spill light into the house. There are no shades on these lights to prevent them from strongly illuminating inside the house.

The new streetlights are so bright and unpleasant.. I moved from Kent to escape the lights but they are now putting them in Tacoma.. please somebody do something I feel so helpless. The new lights are horrible both in color and brightness. I can’t sleep I can’t think I can’t relax.

We just had these lights installed in our neighborhood. They're hideous. Maybe those who decided (without home owner's input) to put these in have a vested interest in sleeping medications because these LED lights have been proven to be harmful to humans per the AMA. Not to mention migration of animals and nature in general - these NEVER should and never should have been installed in residential neighborhoods.

Suquamish WA placed 2 monster street lights/pole on residence property, obnoxious lights glaring down my street - they all but blind you looking out the window at night. Its so ridiculous and annoying.

Not to mention, according to an insect control agent, that night pollinators are heavily affected, do not go out and pollinate!! This led lighting is an environmental mess! Pollinators and all fauna, including birds, are stressed already. Now scientists have to waste government dollars on studying the effects of these lights on humans and animals! Who is making millions vonvincing the municipal governments to pay for this switch. Wr all suffer! Governments will just have to switch back when the dcience is out!

We had a major glaring issue with the new LED street lamps. They blinded us in our condo and made the evenings very unpleasant. When researching how other people coped with this problem, I noticed a post here that recommended to touch bases with [email protected]. I finally e-mailed him on Easter Sunday (with lamp post numbers, description of the issues and attached photos) and received a friendly reply the next morning with the promise that he would investigate. Then, on the next day, two engineers worked on our issue. They took care of one of our problems, but the family room still had some glaring issues, reduced but not completely eliminated. We reported back to Mr. Crume and he sent his crew out again, within two days. At that time, the engineers changed out both of the lamps and now we have no glaring issues whatsoever. Two thumbs up on the outstanding service from Seattle Lights. The responsiveness was impressive. The employees really care. We feel lucky that our issues are completely resolved - within four days after first contacting Mr. Crume.

The color temperature should be no great than 2700K (2000K would be even better). Consider PC Amber LEDs, filtered 2700K LEDs, or "wait," as the technology is changing so fast for the better.

I have had to cover my window with foam core. No lie. This is awful. It wakes me up every night. I have made several complaints with the city. Unbearable.

I am so glad to have come across this petition and to have found others who also have to drive with their visors down (at night!) and who get headaches from the new LED streetlights. I have been in touch with the city several times and after seeming like they cared, I finally got my last response which read,
"Good day Ms. d'Armand,
In response to your question below, I am sorry to tell you City Light will no longer be ordering high pressure sodium cobra head street lights. They are being phased out and in just a few short years will be obsolete."
This was after sharing my deep concern for the danger these lights pose for drivers and for their adverse health effects. I used to look forward to my evening walk with the dog and now I find I have headaches when I get home. The lights are so piercing that they hurt my eyes, and, even without looking directly at them (which is almost impossible to do unless you are adept at walking with your eyes only on your feet and even there it looks as though you've come across a murder investigation scene) I still get a headache. I have endured many changes in Seattle in the 26 years I have been a resident here and I pay my taxes dutifully, but this change is simply rude and thoughtless to its residents. I am all for energy savings and I recycle and compost with the best of them. But this? This affects my quality of life deeply. No more looking at the night sky. I have always kept my curtains open and now I find I am closing them earlier and earlier and I absolutely hate it. I feel trapped in my own home. Seattle has always been a beautiful city, one that has combined natural beauty and city life so well. Naturally, we want to be a leader in energy savings, but you can't tell me there weren't other options here and you can't tell me they couldn't have put this up to a public vote. With the old sodium lights, they cast a light so that, as I driver, I could scan the road without thinking and see if there was anything in the way, a

Please limit the light temperature to 2200K to match the previous lights.

These lights just appeared in my neighborhood and give me a migraine. It is almost unbearable. I gave to drive with the sun visor down...at 3am. I can't be the only one to have these lights cause a migraine hard ache. This is not safe

The new street lights are terrible. They seem like operating room lights. Please do something to filter and soften these lights. The current bright white is completely inappropriate for any situation unless you're trying to torment them
