The Government should force the BBC to scrap the Licence Fee and accept advertising. A lot of TV is subscription based now giving viewers a CHOICE of whether to subscribe or not. The Licence Fee is an ENFORCED UNFAIR TAX, whether you want to watch BBC or not, and should be scrapped forthwith.
I have been overwhelmed by the messages you are sending me about the unfairness of this fee. It is clear that so many of you feel the same way about having an enforced tax for services you might not even use. I am working on organizing these thoughts to present them to the right people.

In this day and age why should we pay a license when other countries don't have too . The BBC should use advertising to fund themselves.

this is a tv tax yet its not a government body. the governments seem scared of the bbc. why should I waste £145 a year to a channel I never watch, no interest in the rubbish it shows. how can it be called freeview. make it earn its money by subscribing from people that want it.

BBC now "personalising" your experience. They cannot (and should not be allowed to be) everything to everyone - that's just plain greedy. Pull your horms in BBC and stop using the licence fee to pay outrageous salaries to hundreds of luvvies and management and let us TV watchers concentrate on Sky and ITV channels which are way better and pay for themselves!!!!!!!!!!!!!
