Too expensive let’s look after the trade and people’s jobs.

Absolutely ridiculous to charge anyone that amount to park. Another nail in the coffin for Barry

Most locals just want to spend an hour walking the dog or having a coffee. Proposed parking charges will hit trade and take years to recoup the financial outlay of pay machines.

Totally unwarranted, it costs an arm and a leg to have new machines installed

Can residents of the vale be exempt from these charges? Seems reasonable to charge visitors.

This idea is appalling. Think of the local community and all the businesses on the island. Dog walkers park for around 2 hours a day which keeps the small businesses afloat especially in the winter months.

This is outrageous, small businesses are struggling enough. Leave things as they are please. It would take the council years to recuperate the cost anyway!

I live in town, I already struggle to park in my own street, this would make things ten times worse for residents!

I take my dogs regularly to Barry island during the winter months, it’s great for my mental health and wellbeing. We also usually stop off at a cafe or chip shop and spend money on local businesses too however, if I were to be charged parking I’d be less inclined to go.

Extremely poor care for residents of Barry, My son is part of the whitmore bay SLSC and as such is training to be a lifeguard, there hut is on the island at the end of the promanade next to zios ice creams, we go down to take him to sessions, collect him, support him and watch events, are you telling us all that actually we don't need to train new lifeguards for the sea because if you start charging for what little car parking is available on barry island a hell of a lot of parents will think twice about letting there children train down there with potential new trainees not being able to afford to park there!! Use your brains, gavin and Stacey has increased interest in barry again let's not kill all aspects of welcoming for them by allowing these strangers to leave thinking that was a rip off visiting there!!! What little car parking is free now around barry needs to be left alone!! Stop being so money grabbing!!

Outrageous idea. A nail in the coffin not only for Barry Island traders but also to social lives and exercise opportunities for local people .

We should be encouraging people to visit the town not putting them off.
