89K can be better spent in the town! There are enough car parks in the island. Difficult enough for locals to park in town and on the island.

The council never put Barry people first only what money they can get in.This will stop local people using the Island we pay rates why should we have to pay high parking , The council just dont care about those who live here ! I understand resident parking that's fair. But the charge of £10 a day is huge !!

Local businesses rely on locals regularly visiting. Taking away 2hours free parking will destroy these businesses.

Having charges reduces visitors. They need to build a multy story car park.

Its ridiculous. You’ll kill parkrun as volunteers cant park for free. You’ll kill the businesses as they rely on dog walkers and walkers to keep them afloat.

Businesses are struggling already. Rate increases, NI increases. The Chancellor said the government has given employees a rise in the minimum wage. This is an unbelievable statement, the money come from already struggling employers, so what do they do? cut their workforce and no doubt employees will be out of work and then claim unemployment benefits!! Introduce car parking charges in a town that is alread struggling, Why? The Internet is taking customers from the shop, and no doubt, a lot of what is purchased is bought from small businesses working from home, under the umbrella's of the likes of Amazon and eBay. Landlords are charging extortionate rates, electricity and gas costs are high, and now the council want to take more money from businesses by charging to park their vehicles or keep them from going in to work, as there's nowhere to park. VOGC wake up and smell the coffee beans. before it's too late. Implementing charging will without a doubt cost the council more money in the long run, as businesses have to shut up shop.

With cost of living crisis and the difficulties local businesses are facing why would VOG council want to enforce this ?

Transparent and open local government that doesn't inform residents and traders directly affected. Absolutely ridiculous and will kill off the town and the Island.

The council are not forward looking and seeing how disastrous this will be for local businesses. Once they close there will be no reason to go to these places and they will lose their business rates and won't get any parking fee either. The Council is so greedy, it wants as much money squeezed out of residents but want to provide less and less.

We're all facing financial difficulties so why are we expected to pick up the mess & decimation they seem determined to inflict on Vale residents & businesses

This will kill the Island and The Knapp. It’s the local people who keep Barry going. Visitors stop longer and pay to park

It's not fair to locals or businesses, especially for short stays

Damaging to the town, restricting visitors who just want to pop down for a coffee or a stroll.
