Barry Island is the home of G and S, and it’s not fair to the residents who didn’t ask for it.

Let’s help local business and be able to see our local sites cheaply !

Yet again the residents and businesses in Barry are being charged to use facilities in their own area. Do we not already pay council tax Should we be charged again to walk on our own streets and beaches. Charges should only apply to visitors.

I live on the Island and don’t want family to have to pay to visit me

It's absurd for the Vale Of Glamorgan Council to even have thought of doing this in their. They do not care about the people of the town they are just money grabbers. If this gets the go ahead it's going to cause so many issues with the car park for workers and shoppers. Charging at the island / knap car parks is a huge concern this is denying people especially the elderly the chance to go out in the summer for a walk. Those car parks are always busy especially in the summer this would have a knock on effect to the businesses at Barry Island and the Knap. Not everyone has the money for bus or lives close to a bus stop and some people can't use public transport. This is going to have a huge effect on people's mental health and well being. It's proven that being out in the sunshine and is good for you. The knap even on a busy day is such a calm and tranquil place to be. Having to pay to spend a few hours over there is going to have such a negative effect on the people of Barry the tourists holidaymakers businesses. VOG Council please think again the negatives to your proposed moves far outweigh the positives....
