This is ridiculous hasn't the town of barry been damaged enough by your terrible decision making and high rates? You should be ashamed of yourselves even thinking this would be a good idea!

Absolutely ridiculous, the town is struggling to stay alive as it is, businesses are closing, this will be the last blow for Barry, the money wasted on installing these machined could be used for local community services. The council members need to get their act together and walk through the town and island and talk to traders.

Atrocious idea, extortionate council tax charged from an ever expanding pool of residents yet get bare skeleton services and now you want to deny the last of free access to public areas, stop paying OMs and above bonuses, streamline your excessive top heavy and overly paid staff senior structure and actually pay attention to the residents, businesses and users of these areas. Yet another shameful money grabbing scheme from this Council.

I live in Caerphilly and frequently drive to Barry island with friends to enjoy a good walk to Cold Knap and back as it's too expensive on the train. Sadly this will no longer be an option if this goes ahead!

I'm a local resident who already pays council tax. I enjoy a walk on The Island and a tea or coffee in one of the local cafes. On street parking charges will reduce the amount of times that myself and others go to the Island and have a negative effect on local businesses.

Parking charges will have a huge effect on small businesses and families already struggling with the cost of living. This needs to be scrapped.

Council tax is high enough for locals and we need to make it appealing for locals and tourists. Locals from the Colcot for example are not going to walk down to the island each time!
