Scrap proposed on Street parking charges at Barry Island.

I can't walk far and I can't catch a bus as I can't stand for too long,and how am I going to carry my shopping?I am 80 in June and I need the car parks so I don't have to walk far.This council is a disgrace,what right have they to take away our not of pleasure of sitting in our car looking at the lovely views we have .So angry

The council make enough money as it is without charging people to park at Barry Island!!!

Once again removing a simple pleasure. We will not be able to afford a visit for a simple walk. Shame on you Vale, these are more areas lost to us pensioners

I am part of a running club that start on Barry Island, it would put us off going there and using the trade afterwards!

We pay enough in council tax and abolishing the two hour free parking would seriously impact on business. We are a social running group and it would impact people’s ability to attend our sessions, most of which start from the island or knap area

Parking fees are a money making cash cow. I moved to Australia last year and most places have free parking.

I object to the proposed introduction of on-street parking charges at Barry Island. The charges will inadvertently impact the residents of Barry and the surrounding area and deter visitors. There are already two large paid-parking lots, so the removal of the free two-hour slots is absolutely crazy. It will drive people away. Moreover, the £89k to introduce this, given it comes from taxpayers money, means the proposed £100 annual pas if just double taxing locals! It is also frankly disgusting that this proposed introduction of the additional parking restrictions/fees has not been properly communications to the residents of Barry and that there has been no proper consultation. I am sure that this is against all the regulations and would welcome an investigation in to how and why this has been rushed through. Please don’t introduce these new parking charges.

Money grabbers. There will be nothing left in Barry!!

This is a terrible proposal which will detrimentally affect local businesses. It must not go ahead. If the council wants to be the ‘best they can’, give us a cinema and other entertainment facilities.
