Shocking us resident shouldn't have to pay we pay enough in council tax. Instead of charging us stop buying brand new vehicles every two minutes and uses the existing ones you have to save money. Such a joke.

The idea of charging to park in places in Barry & the Vale will be detrimental and extremely damaging to local businesses. The High Street is already suffering due to out of town shopping where free, easy & convenient parking close to the larger shops is available, you will only push more people away from shopping in the town by doing this. As for allowing workers to park outside homes, where will people who live there park? Many people are not in work, they have children at school or they have retired etc, so the last thing these residents will want is for someone to be taking up the space outside their homes until that person has finished work. No, it would be better to put an extra multi storey in Wyndham Street for shoppers and potentially use the other at Court Road, for long stay workers parking. This would justify a parking charge - to enable to keep cars secure and safe through the working day, you could have less expensive parking for a shoppers car park then behind the library. As a family membee of a blue badge holder, what I would also say is that one of the things we notice visiting Barry Island, is that there isn't enough disabled bays, so with anything you do there, it should be something that has disabled parking in mind, and doesn't leave the area with even fewer places. As for the car parks in Barry Islands - by the old harbour and the old Butlins site, could these not be better utilised for parking, by adding multi storeys to gain more parking if it's all about revenue? Ensuring reduced rates for local residents. By going to war with residents who keep businesses in the area afloat, during the down times, you will antagonise and alienate people but it will be the business owners who will lose out when people stop going there.

This is ridiculous as businesses will lose money and in these stressful times we need the great outdoors and with everything so expensive we need the beach and a simple ice cream.

At the very lease, residents of Barry should be given the opportunity to park wherever they choose in their home town. A permit system could be introduced or an online reg. no. system for wardens to check

Walking & fresh air is one of the best and only free ways to healthy living. Charges detrimental & will kill businesses.

From my home I can see many, many people parking in Nells Point car park without paying. Should they not be targeted?

Barry has turned into a crap hole due to government and council bad decision making. Pot holes everywhere, business shutting down because they can't afford to keep up with such ridiculous demands on them. Barry looks third world compared to Sully and Penarth. Vale Council is a disgrace. The beaches should be free to visit, we pay our taxes that continually rise. I can't even get an orange recycling bag because vale haven't got the funds to produce more! Says alot. I went to argos the other day and the rubbish situation there was disgusting, it was like visiting shops in a tip. I will be taking photos of how barry is looking to send to the vog Council especially the children's parks, town etc, it's disgusting.
