I do not consent to these parking charges. It will deter many people from visiting Barry Island and this is not acceptable.

These charges will have a detrimental effect on local businesses and the residents. The cost of even implementing the schemes is crazy and will take a long time to recoup. The Vale council is doing nothing for the people of Barry and surrounding areas!

Council tax totals must be huge following all the new houses over the last few years but can't afford litter pickers. The Island, the roads, the parking spaces BELONG TO THE PEOPLE

Daylight robbery we pay enough let us enjoy our surroundings and think about the people who haven’t got a lot I can just about take the kids to the day to the beach without paying for parking!!! Start spending your money wisely!

Dreadful decision to even try to implement these charges. Let’s see ALL the council staff back in work and doing a fair days work for what our ever increasing council charge is paying them to do not just the 4-5 hours they are doing at home.

Stop the extra charges! You siphon enough from us already.

This will ruin local businesses and the locals enjoyment of Barry Island. I am disgusted by this. There’s already 2 big car parks that are pay and display, and then less spaces have become available on the actual front. Please - let us locals actually enjoy quick visits to OUR beach.

I’m can’t believe the councilor who demonstrated against this, has tried secretly to implement it.

Due to a lot of privatised ownership on the island the council can't profit much from the island. Perhaps look into paying into improving the islands road's and renovation for tourists more than charging anybody who comes in. We can only do black bins every 3 weeks, yet somehow all local tourist trash is collected and now parking meters? Residents and locals are being punished.

This charge will be detrimental to the businesses on the Island and @ The Knap and to the Town. If this charge does go ahead we won't be using these car parks and so will lose out on our daily walks which is vital for our mental health!

When will they realise Barry Island is in decline as a destination and should be doing more to attract visitors.

Residents should have reduced parking in the car parks if anything - we're the ones that keep the island going in the off season!

If the council is short of money, maybe they should stop using 25% of our council tax to fund their gold plated pensions.
