Absolutely shocking. Councils recieve enough in rates and taxes, we need to work to pay more for less services, not acceptible!!

Perhaps the council should review the efficiency of all operations and cut the cost of administration to better spend our hard earned money.

The VOGC are an absolute disgrace! If they were a private company they would have been bankrupt years ago. The community charge is set to increase again whilst the services that they provide have decreased and by introducing these parking charges, businesses and residents of the Island will suffer along with the general public and visitors to Barry. Fleecing residents and visitors to Barry is not the way forward. Time for someone with some vision

The Vale council should be working to attract visitors not put them off with unreasonable expensive parking projects

This would have a catastrophic impact on tourism, if people chose to use the already overwhelmed train services in summer that would be unsafe due to the high demand they already have in that period, plus there unreliablilty, local businesses would fall more leading to more unemployment, town centre streets are already overrun during the day, this seems like a systematic destruction of the long used island and town centre to force shops into the new shopping district they made down the waterfront that has 0 shops.
