Scrap parking charges in St Marys Road

Where do you suggest parents park to drop their children off ? Why would you charge for this

A lot of elderly park there as no parking in their retirement apartments and cannot afford these parking payments. Again hurting the pensioners.

Where will parents park on the nursery and school run. some drive as they go to work straight afterwards.

Unfair for school drop offs and people relying on car park over night that live along that road it’s not fair

Parking is allready hard around this area at school times, charging for this car park will just make people park more inconsiderate than normal.

This would make the drop for all the children going to school a nightmare! Cost us all £100s a year for parking tickets ! And not be in the interest of the kids of parents, just another way to make money from us parents

It will cause massive safety risks along st marys road as there already is. But this will cause people to park on st marys road where there is free parking all day plus with the cars on pick up and drop off for school it makes it dangerous for children walking home.

If you charge this will cause dangers down that road for parents and children going to school as people willpark on the road. Don't charge.

Please consider the detrimental impact this will have on families, particularly those in Hayling West that are in the top 10% of high concern deprivation in Hampshire, being able to afford these charges and for staff at both the preschool and nursery within this location that are on minimum wage and do not have access to an onsite car park, and who also have their own children to get to local schools.

We need to keep our children safe.

This free parking area is essential for key workers who are on minimum wage and will be unable to afford the weekly costs thus forcing them to park elsewhere potentially causing congestion on essential roads and disruption to local residents. This also poses a huge safety risk to children and students who are commuting to school especially on that main road where the entrance to the car park is, there is minimal pavement in that area therefore young people and adults are forced to walk into the road, if cars begin to park along this road or outside the entrances to the schools this could potentially cause a safety risk to life reducing road visibility for oncoming traffic and those forced to walk in the road due to lack of pavement. I feel these risks should be taken into consideration when deciding to apply parking fees.

This car park is essential for school drop off and pick up.

Why fix something that is not broken it's not over used or under used it's parent friendly and by changing it you are risking lateness for children in school riskier drop offs outside the school as parents don't always have the change to pay do will stop outside the school causing risk and danger for no reason leave it alone we are a community island not havant !

Please scrap these parking charges, they are ill throughout and haven’t considered the impact on the safety of children as the roads become more congested with parked cars, or the impact on local businesses. Please scrap them.
