Travesty charging minimum wage staff to park to go to work. Limited spaces available as it is for parents to be able to safely drop their kids to school!

Please don’t do this near our school, it’s tough already for parents!

No need for this. The carpark is mainly used at school pick up and drop off.

This will significantly affect the road safety, pedestrian safety. Part of the road does not has a pavement- which I’m already busy tome (school time) which I pass daily to take my children to the other school.. is dangerous. Due to the built up residential area which on private dwellings do not have enough space for cars. They are forced to park on the road. So at school pick up drop off times. Parents are forced to park on a road as the car park is full - and it’s extremely dangerous. I suggest the people involved in this application need to drive/ walk/ cycle this road on a school run pick up. There’s also a bursary so small babies are getting pulled out of cars already directly on a road. Putting a charge on the car park will increase the amount of cars that decide to pull up. It’s financially hard times for all.

There are very few places to park for the school run to ensure safe travel to and from school. Making this a pay car park will contest all the roads around the area as people do not want to pay to drop and pick up their children. We will park anywhere else to try and evade parking charges.

hese charges are putting children at risk by increasing congestion and unsafe parking as drivers look for free alternatives nearby. St Mary’s Road is used by families and children every day, and road safety must come first.
The car park is also essential for key workers who rely on it to get to work. At a time when the cost of living is already placing huge pressure on households, charging for parking here is unfair and unnecessary.
Scrapping these parking charges would improve safety, support key workers, and reduce stress on local families. We urge the council to do the right thing and remove the charges.
