San Diego Scooter Ban

scooters are a nuisance in Pacific Beach and Mission Beach

Scooters are too dangerous, injuries and lawsuits have increased. Disabled Persons are not able to use sidewalks when scooters are left laying down on sidewalks. Riders do not obey the rules. Scooters are not environmentally sustainable or helpful either. Scooter companies do not pay enough to the San Diego City to offset the financial problems the scooters themselves create.

We live a couple of blocks from the Shores Beach. Scooters are everywhere. We see kids riding them, we see people riding on the sidewalks and the boardwalk going way too fast. When I go out walking I am afraid that I am going be hit by one. It's too bad, but they are not safe.

I just returned to La Jolla from a week in the Monterey/Carmel area. No scooters!!! If they can do it, so can we!

Please ban these dangerous scooters. They are a public nuisance.

The scooter companies are profiting from the City and from its residents because scooter renters can park them illegally and without enforcement or penalty on sidewalks, disabled ramps, and private property. The scooters should be banned until and unless these problems can be solved. And even then, they are proven to be dangerous, and they are unhealthful because they encourage riding instead of walking.

Where’s the common sense with our leaders?????

Scooters make driving so dangerous, you can't see them out of your peripheral vision until it's a split second to having an accident. Please ban them all today! Thank you bars at Bry for your leadership!

bird lime and all the other e-scooters are not welcome here in pb - I have been bullied by them -pushed around physically by their riders for nearly 2 years- we did not vote for them -get them out please ban immediately-stop the gross polluters of our fair city

When is someone going to be cited for child endangerment for giving their kids rides?

The area safety hazard. The city should encourage walking and biking. Non electric or batteries. Better for everyone s health.

We have a home in La Jolla Shores for over 20 years. Since the scooters have arrived I have had to dodge scooters to keep from being hit on the sidewalk of Girard. They are left in front of homes in the neighborhood. They are a nuisance and dangerous.

Way too many. Riders rudely ride on sidewalk. Riders leave them all over the place blocking sidewalks and creating eyesore. Juicers illegally park and block traffic to pick up and drop off scooters. The problem is a combination between riders irresponsibility, scooter companies lack of oversight, and juicers antics.

Sooner than later.

All the claimed positives for consumers are untrue. There is a difference between disruptors and scofflaws.

I live in Mission Beach and there are MULTIPLE scooters on each block (and not in corrals). Every conceivable kind of dockless scooter/bike is literally on every block! Not only are they a visual blight on our community, they can also impede pedestrians. Walking my two dogs can be a challenge when encountering these scooters on the sidewalk. While I support the basic premise that these scooters are meant to be a part of the green environment, that is NOT how they are used in the beach communities! They are rented for entertainment and race these things up and down the alleys and on the side walks. I have seen all kinds of riders...elementary school kids, teenagers, young adults, older adults, tandem riders, even an adult with a baby in a front pack. These things need to be removed from the beach communities!

These scooters are outrageous. We used to walk at the beach boardwalk in PB but not anymore. Pedestrians who want to enjoy the ocean view and waves have been overrun by thoughtless riders who don't seem to even care about being at the ocean.
