these scooters are constantly on our PB home lawn. Streets are a mess and distracts from quality of life as homeowners. If not resolved, I will move out of PB.

A family member of mine has sustained horrific facial injuries while riding a scooter in town. These scooters need to be banned. Too many injuries and deaths are being reported associated with riding them. They are not safe.

After a year and a half of this nonsense it should be clear that: (1) these boundary pushing scooter companies operate under the philosophy of "act first and seek permission as an afterthought" (2) the idea that scooters are being used by SD residents as both an alternate to commuting and as a means to achieve that last mile -----thus reducing the carbon footprint is simply laughable. (3) The way the companies operate, the manner in which scooters are operated, and the manner in which they are staged, stored, and randomly discarded after rides----all these daily and ubiquitous habits promote hostility, lessen civility, and set bad examples of how civilized people should treat one another.

I’ve been almost maimed by irresponsible scooter riders riding on the sidewalk at top speed. Or almost hit them as they recklessly go the wrong way on a one way street. It’s only a matter of time before they kill a pedestrian. The saddest part is that you could suffer a hit and run and the scooter companies are not liable and apparently neither are the riders (there are no insurance carriers on these things). I am not allowed to drive my motor vehicle without insurance why are people allowed to zip through busy streets and sidewalks at 20 miles an hour with no liability insurance?

People do not use these safely. I frequently see kids on them and double riders. People go around cutting the breaks on them. Get rid of them.

They are clearly not being regulated, they are left anywhere and EVERYWHERE. They DO NOT BELONG on the boardwalk or anywhere cars and pedestrians have the right of way.
