Scooters are nuisance, as well as dangerous for drivers and pedestrians. Handicap access to a sidewalk is often blocked by a scooter.

We should no longer have to live as prisoners of these scooters. I can't even walk down the sidewalks anymore without fearing myself or my dog will get run over or hit, of which I've already had many close calls. They are always just in piles on the street or sidewalks; a total eyesore. Now when you drive anywhere, you have to worry about hitting them since they drive so erratically. I have seen a car drive over one and almost crash because someone had thrown one in the middle of the street and it was at night so they didn't see it. They do not actually reduce cars or traffic, as they are simply for people who would otherwise walk or take bikes. They pollute our oceans and walk-ways. They are a hazard. They are dangerous. They are an eyesore. They make the sidewalks no longer for "walking." There is nothing good about these things. They even damage front lawns. They are a nightmare and I am so sick of them, I could scream. I hope this petition works and we can get rid of them once and for all. Other cities have done it; why can't we?!?

I have seen so many reckless scooter operators. They are dangerous and not properly regulated.

Makes the PB and Mission Beach area look even more trashy than it already is.

I live in Mission Beach and Pacific Beach since 1978. I've had several near misses involving scooter and motorized bikes. I shouldn't have to move over for them while I am taking a stroll with my family. I fear getting hit head-on or from behind because I don't get of their way. They have the right-of-way not the pedestrian any more. WHY? I love taking a walk on the Boardwalk, Mission Blvd., Grand Ave, and Garnett Ave but not any more. I am always getting out of their way. I just got back from Laguna and Balboa Island where walking and running allowed. NO SCOOTER, BIKES AND SKATEBOARDS ALLOWED ON BOARDWALK. Why can't the pedestrians come first in San Diego not motorize vehicles on our boardwalks and sidewalks. Why aren't we walking for good health, not for speeding around just for fun of it. PLEASE BAN MOTORIZED VEHICLES IN PACIFIC BEACH AND MISSION BEACH. Please Help Us Kathy Mula

I've seen the police just drive past scooters being used on the sidewalk, they don't seem to care.
