Until RID gets its entire act together... No ones testing should be placed on hold for an uncertain amount of time.

I fully understand the need to revamp the old SC:L test.
However, the SC:L candidates are in a place different than the other candidates who were affected by the moratorium.
The NIC is back. The CDI is recieving a bridge plan. The Ed:K-12 will be up to the new certification requirments (yet to be established).
The SC:Ls are the only ones who were esentially told "to bad, we will get to you later".
The test is old, but it is no less valid than the candidates who rushed to get it done before Dec 31. Before the moratorium, we did not know what would happen, and these candidates didnt know their work would be thrown out the window.
Let those who are qualified, try one last time if they wish, and sunset the test with dignity.

It is more than unfortunate that RID does not have a performance exam for those people who are prepared and qualified to to take it. It leaves them in the position of limited work and lacking ability to earn the living that they have a right to, based on skills.

The interpreters affected by the Moratorium on the SC:L certification should have the opportunity to complete the process the have worked so hard to prepare for. Not to mention there people from the Deaf community suffering from a lack of interpreters qualified to work in court settings. Please make it a priority to make appropriate accommodations for these interpreters to complete the certification process by providing a performance test expeditiously.
