By far this is the most expensive and WORST internet service I have ever had. They just charge whatever they want because we have no choice. DirecTV is good but ridiculously expensive for the channels provided. I either want the internet upgraded on schriever so we can get faster speeds or I want my bill reduced. I pay 100$ a month and it takes 10 hours to download a 20-30GB game file. That's not acceptable. I know we all hate this and would love a different internet provider. Or at least we should have a choice.

My husband and I just moved here and hate the fact that we are forced to go through Century link to get the worst internet service I have encountered since 2005 not to mention ridiculously high compared to out east with FIOS.

We have lived here for 2 years but just got directv service in November. It was a 2 week hassle just to get the service guy to come out - the first people I talked to at CenturyLink signed me up for the Genie, but the order auto-cancelled because we're not authorized that here, but they never called me back to update me. I called back after 5 days of not hearing anything, and after the second customer service person apologized for the error of the first, and then signed me up for 2 DVRs to "simulate" the capabilities of the Genie... but they put the wrong kind of DVRs in the system, so THAT order auto-cancelled as well. Do you think they called me this time? Nope! It's like they actively do not want new customers! The third time I called back they were actually able to set up the correct equipment, actually contact the installers, and verify everything was done correctly. Finally got service installed in mid-November.
Well it is now 3 months later, and I've never seen a bill. Like just about everyone on here, we have the same issues that the customer service people just bounce us back and forth between DirecTV and Centurylink (and Legacy CenturyLink) trying to figure out what is going on. The picture quality and satellite reception go out constantly, but it is hard to even talk to the right people for help because I "don't have an accurate customer account number with them."
I really hope you guys are able to set up a deal where they will release us from our contracts without the termination fees. I'll be dropping them for Dish Network as soon as I'm able. This Centurylink/DirecTV setup out here is beyond ridiculous; horrible customer service, bad tv service.

Sketchy service at best. I've never had Direct scan for connections for as long as it does, and been a direct customer for 8+ years.

Last night my internet was down for no apparent reason for hours. I have no idea when service will go down, how long the outage will last and why it is occuring. The only internet speed testing websites that report the speed I am paying for seem to be the ones allied / owned by Century link. Ping to google.com is a whopping 97ms. I had several ISPs in MN who could pull less than 12.

We were in the middle of our Directv contract when we move here and it was the biggest hassle to move our service. I still pay the same amount every month but now i have 3 less hd recievers and no longer have the whole home dvr. On top of that, the satellite is always going out. My account is still directly with directv so Centurylink is even more confused than normal when I try to call in an outage. I'd never heard of Centurylink before we moved here, and based on their incredible ineptitude, I'm not surprised. If there were any other choices available, I would NOT be using them!

We have lived in on base housing for 2 years now. For the frst year we lived with just netflix and hulu because we had a negative standing with direct tv, even though we only ever had time warner before. After a year of constantly waiting for video to buffer we decided to get direct tv. They charged us a $500 deposit that they refused to break up over a few months to make it easier to pay, we were refused the latest technology (the genie) and after it was installed I discovered I had paid for brand new dvr boxes but was given refurbished ones. The remotes barely work, the signal is spotty at best, when called they can never find my account information, they call CONSTANTLY trying to sell me more stuff, we pay for the maximum internet bandwidth we were offered since we both attend online classes, do online gaming and have kids, yet the internet is so slow and frequently just goes out. As another resident said we also did not receive a bill one month and were then sent a disconnect notice in its place and told our account is now delinquent. The bill constsntly fluxuates with these new random charges and fees every month. The guy who installed our direct tv had no idea the house was not wired with coax, spent time on the phone gossiping with his coworker, he seemed genuinely confused as to how to do his job, he didn't have enough cable with him so he left one dvr in the box and told me to go buy some wire and then hook it up and just call them to activate the box. Any time I call customer service I am told I need to call the other provider, I actually had a direct tv employee spend a great deal of time on the phone with me and she was just as confused as me, saying there was nothing indicating why I couldn't have the genie

I have constantly had problems with century link since I have moved here. First started when I just had DirectTV. I was sent back and fourth between Century Link and DirectTV any time I needed somthing fixed. Then when they took over internet, I couldnt even bundle because they had "differnt billing methods." I think they just wanted a way to save money and jip us out of the bundle deals. I was then told that I was paying to much for my internet, and I could bundle my phone for free and my bill wouldnt change at all. They never formally gave me a number and started charging me an extra $40. When I told them my situation and that I never used the phone EVER because I didnt even know it was hooked up they told me, " O'Well its on you not us." I asked if I could go back to what I had to the plan with no phone they told me they dont offer it anymore and I need to pay for 10 mbs of speed. I have yet to get more than 6mbs of speed ever and now with all this cutting out its the last straw. If I cant get better service than this then I am moving off base, this isnt woth my BAH.

I second Brittany Hindman! Too tired of this nonsense and crappy service to even write out a comment! Although I will add, our bill has been different every month and every time we call and they "fix" it the same thing happens again over and over. We also didn't even get billed a month which put us past due and screwed us but then century link blamed direct tv. We are definitely canceling!

Century Link and Directv are the worst providers. A contract is to hold both parties responsible. At this point I want to void my contract due to the poor satellite service, poor customer service and the continued overcharge rates. The satellite goes down at least once a week. The customer service department has a lack of knowledge of their responsibilities, services and general no concern if the issue is resolved. Your are consistently transfered between Century Link and Directv due to this. Then the monthly invoice dates will randomly change, a late fee is charged because they changed it without your knowledge and they still consistently overcharge. I have had experience with Century Link and Directv outside of Schriever AFB and the state of Colorado. It could be said that they are consistent at providing poor service. I was hoping Schriever AFB would be different, but I'm ready to cut my losses and void the contract.

I just want out of my contract without penalty. This service is ridiculous. It makes no sense why they can NEVER find our account when the stupid number that is printed on the bill is apparently useless because they say that is not it when we call. I JUST WANT OUT! Terrible customer service, and terrible service in general.
They can't even send out a tech to fix my TV!
