As supporters of quality public education in San Diego Schools, we urge the Governor and State Legislature to restore as much funding as possible to local school districts using the federal stimulus dollars. California's urban school districts were cut more than the average school district in California because of their reliance on special categorical funds used for disadvantaged students. We urge the Governor to restore funds to urban districts in the state using a fair and balanced allocation that restores the cuts to categorical programs. Our most needy students deserve fair treatment in the allocation of federal stimulus dollars for education.
We just hit our first hundred signatures for fair education funding. Post this link on your Facebook page right now to keep the momentum moving.
