I think that the girls dress code is outrageous. When you don't feel confident with how you look and the clothes you are wearing your self confidence goes down. I for one believe that my shoulder, knee, bra strap, back, and thighs are not distracting. I think it is wrong for girls to have to cover up because it is a distraction to the learning environment because if what I'm wearing distracts someone they need to learn self control. If my parents don't stop me when I walk out the door then I shouldn't be dress coded at school. I for one think that being dresscoded at school is embarrassing and more distracting than what I am wearing. Being dresscoded takes time away from my education. The way we dress is how we express ourselves and because of a dress code it makes it so much more difficult to dress. It is extremely difficult to find clothing that matches the dress code, including shorts. I think that ripped jeans/fashion frayed clothing isn't trashy but is actually fashionable. I think the dress code is unreasonable and unfair to the students because of what teachers wear. Boys dress code is not strict at all. Girls are taught to cover up so not to distract the boys, but instead I believe we should be teaching boys to respect girls and their bodies. We should be allowed to wear whatever we want to express ourselves.
