SC House Bill 285 and SC Senate Bill 464 amend the current child car seat laws. (http://goo.gl/vO316Z)
1)They increase the age that children are required to use a car seat from 5 to 7
2) Children under 2 must be in a rear-facing seat unless they reach the weight and height maximums of their seat per the car seat manufacturer.
3) Children who have outgrown their rear-facing seats (provided they are over age one) MUST be in a harnessed seat until they are either 8 years old or until they have grown out of a harnessed seat, if they are under 8 they should then be in a belt positioning booster.
4)Raises minimums for other safety issues from 6 to 8.

This is common sense. My 6 year old is way too small for just a seatbelt. Keep them safe!!
