Mabe finally backed down and tossed the proposal in the trash where it belongs. I am honestly still reeling from how fast this fell apart once we put the pressure on them but we have to keep watching the commission meetings because people like that never really change their minds.
Commissioner Mabe is trying to pass a proposal attacking your landowner and Second Amendment Rights to shoot on your own property!
Send a clear message to the county commissioners that Rockingham County will NOT stand for ANY infringement on Land Owner or Second Ammendments rights!
I really never thought this would take off like it has when I first typed it up on my phone but my goodness the momentum is just incredible and it proves we are all on the same page about our rights here. It feels like the tide is turning and people are finally waking up to what is happening at the commission meetings which is honestly such a huge relief.

NO WAY! Why are our elected representiatives so set on personal agenda's? Please remember "We The People" put you in and we can vote you out. Leave our rights alone and stop trying to allow the minority to run our lives. Enough is enough. We are watching what you do. Joey Koford

This infringes upon the rights of property owners. If you want to endorse something, make a proposal that states any commissioner that causes wreck less endangerment while intoxicated MUST step down from their position

Commissioner Mabe I voted for you but I will not stand for you attacking our land owner or second amendment rights. I do not own or know how to shoot a gun but, you owe the people of Rockingham Co. better than this.

how could one try to even think this way, there are very few people that would even be able to shoot on their own land. most shooting ranges don't have enough space according to this ordinance. i think its a shame to try to push it over on us.

Mr. Mabe needs to be investigated to check if he has stock interest in the new public shooting range that is to be built in Rockingham County. Why else would he wish to restrict where we can shoot. This will greatly impact hunting in this county! We do not need this ordinance!!!

There are already laws in place to take of of the issues that supposedly brought this about. We don't need more restrictions and laws. Please spend our tax money on something useful instead of taking away more rights.

If a person is shooting on their property in a safe manner I fail to see the problem. Our elected officials should focus on protecting their peoples rights instead of finding ways to bow down to the wants of folks MOVING into our county from other areas. If those people don't like the noise when they move into a neighborhood then THEY should move. Mabe will try to shut down the horse farms next because some folks new to the area don't like the smell of horse poo.
