Petitions are in place to stop the co-op coming to North Somercotes. Why wouldn't we want to have a store where we can get fresh, quaily and CHEAPER items ? Other villages like Manby (which have a smaller population than North Somercotes and are closer the the supermarkets in louth?)are progressing..let's not be left behind! Please also note the co-op give back to the local community's.
I was just driving past the proposed site again and honestly it is baffling that anyone thinks we should stay stuck in the past when we clearly need better options. It feels like some people just like to complain for the sake of it even though a store would actually help the local families who are struggling with current prices. Anyway I am still putting together a formal letter to the planning committee because we deserve to have our side of the story told too.

I really thought this might just fizzle out but seeing how many people actually care about getting a proper store here is honestly kind of overwhelming. It is wild to see the momentum building up like this and I keep checking my phone because I just cannot believe it is happening even though we definitely deserve a fair shake in this village.

I left the village and went to the Co Op in Louth today. Why? Because I could purchase a frozen meal deal with enough big branded items in to feed a family of 4 - 6 for £5. Even with fuel it's cheaper than what's available in North Somercotes at the moment. Bring on progress!!

I don't feel it will overly impact on the existing local shops as the new store is set to be at the other end of the village .
We already have double of most amenities and they're still pulling what seems a healthy trade.
Job opportunities for local people will be an advantage.
Also anything will look better than the state the proposed area is now.
Surely a new store will be better than several more houses.

Yes. Because it will promote job opportunities for the village and bring people in from neighbouring villages to shop. It will help the older people who are losing their bus service and hopefully bring in cheaper prices on products. As a small village we are paying over the odds for groceries.

I feel the Co-op in North Somercotes will be advantageous to the village . They will have parking, and a good selection of well priced products which is badly needed.

Absolutely, almost an 8 mile round trip for us to sort an emergency bottle of milk sometimes. Good luck
