The application for the outdoor sidewalk cafe has been formally denied. Your steadfast opposition to this proposal ensured that the character of our neighborhood remained the priority for local officials. We shall continue to monitor the situation to ensure these standards of conduct are maintained.

(this message includes four videos of Bagatelle located at 2 Ninth Ave on Gansevoort Plaza)

BAGATELLE is noisy now day or night with french doors closed and acoustic curtains drawn closed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZxddbyrPOI .

ANOTHER VIDEO : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hE4DGK-wkts

Bagatelle's highly amped music, can be heard for a long distance while those close by can feel their windows vibrate. With an outdoor cafe and with doors open wide, the neighborhood will be all the more inundated by noise. From the moment it opened last summer, people have complained about the decibels. Some residents met with Bagatelle's owners as recently as January 2013. The owners refuse to acknowledge what anyone walking by on a Sunday afternoon or Friday/Saturday night can clearly perceive i.e., it's too noisy.

ANOTHER VIDEO August 2012 about midnight.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjDrfqj18d8&list=PLKLt45Kdwn2eHphMi0YFi007BII3WIFAj

Sunday March 24 outside Bagatelle about 5 pm . Their acoustic curtains are pulled across big glass french doors.. It's noisy ...view this last video:  http://youtu.be/HKNvvOOtP1w

IT WILL BE TERRIBLE IF BAGATELLE IS AWARDED A SIDEWALK CAFE with music blasting through open french doors. This application has got to be denied by Community Board 2 and the DCA..PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION

Updates

April 1, 2013

The persistent noise levels around the plaza continue to disrupt the quiet of our neighborhood despite our ongoing attempts to reach the management. We are currently preparing formal documentation for local regulators to ensure they understand the impact of the proposed sidewalk cafe.

Absolute nightmare. Keep the doors closed and stop the music from bleeding into the streets all night long

I cant even keep my windows open in the summer because of the constant thumping bass. Please deny this permit.

Enough is enough. I live two blocks away and my windows literally shake at night. We need some peace and quite in this neighborhood.

They have absolutely no respect for the people who live here. Outdoor seating will make it impossible to sleep.

NO WAY. The noise is already out of control. Why would the city even consider allowing more outdoor volume here

This place is a joke. They think they own the sidewalk already.
