Cheaper is not better Cortlandville is farther and no pre medical care McGraw has taken care of the Solon residents for along time don't close the door on them now
I may not live in new York anymore but cortlandvilles response times sucked. When time is crucial the residents need the closest department and McGraw fire department will not let them down.I vote No to the contract.

The facts are, when a fire breaks out in a house or a barn time is everything. It spreads quickly therefore you want the nearest fire department to help you. This also applies when someone has a stroke or a heart attack,,you need time on your side. You want the rescue squad there to apply oxygen and take vitals to then determine the best quality of care. Yes,there is a paid ambulance that covers Solon but sometimes they get tied up with calls and transfers so they might be delayed. Going with someone else might lower taxes but at what cost??? What is more important life, property, or money.

During stroke or cardiac events, minutes are crucial to survival , cortlandville disbanded its rescue squad and does not provide residential medical emergency response. This means that if you contract with them, you will simply have to wait for an ambulance to respond, and that service may be busy and backed up. Is this a chance you are willing to take with your loved ones? McGraw has provided excellent medical care and fire coverage for years with great response times. Why on earth would you want to change that?

I live in solon, I rather see a small department like mcgraw take care of the area instead of the ones trying to take over the whole County
