I’m afraid a big corporation like Starbucks will force small businesses to close. I’d rather support The Perk and the employees that work there, or Smokey row that my family members built from the ground up. Iris coffee and the Brew. We do not need a Starbucks!

Support our local small businesses. They live here, they pour into the community here, they are what makes Pella unique. Bringing a Starbucks in smacks of trying to be a mini Des Moines and takes income away from those local businesses who are fighting to stay afloat in these difficult economic times.

Although, I don't live in Pella my live and work there. I appreciate the local charm and minimal chains of business. I hope the leaders remember why people travel to Pella, it is it's local charm.

Why in the world do we need an international coffee chain when we have such fantastic options for our community members and businesses, that are run by our neighbors and friends?

Pella has enough great locally owed coffee. Why bring in the corporate McDonald’s of coffee to take away from our unique community. If I wanted all the same things every other town has and not have anything special to encourage tourism I would live in a boring cookie cutter town and not Pella.

Starbucks would surely be the demise of some of our small businesses in our community. If not for the products being served, then the wages/benefits that a giant like Starbucks can offer our HS/College students. Bringing Starbucks to Pella would be very disappointing.

Support local coffee shops!!!

Pella has an amazing number of local restaurants and coffee shops that make it unique. No to Starbucks to keep the Pella touch and local feel.
