Durham is famous for it's coffee and food scene. Bean Traders at Homestead Commons not only makes amazing coffee and food, they are a community center and gathering place. David has been there nearly 20 years providing goods, services, and good jobs to South Durham residents. Now Starbucks wants to sweep in and profit of of his hard work creating and maintaining a thriving coffee culture. But let's be real, Durham! IT WON'T WORK!! There's a Starbucks across the street in Harris Teeter, and another maybe 1.5 miles down Fayetteville Road across from Southpoint Mall. Also one in Target and the other Harris Teeter at the other end of 54 across from Burger King. Let Bean Traders be! You have 4 locations within a two mile radius where Bean Traders has only one.
Bean Traders ilia a fun, local neighborhood hangout place to go to. It’s ambiance and character are unique, a nice alternative to cookie cutter coffee meeting spots.
There are plenty of other locations for a corporate coffee business not far from Bean Traders. It’s a very tone deaf move to try to grab coffee drinkers from a local “mom & pop” business. Poor move, Starbucks.
I have been going to Bean Traders for over 15 years. Flavors are outstanding, and they have been supportive of the local community. Based on this, I gotta say no to Starbucks.
My best friend works here and is an incredible barista! The coffee is amazing. Starbucks, waste someone else’s time and move your new location elsewhere you greedy corporation.
I live in this neighborhood and will never waste my time or money at a Starbucks. Very overrated & overpriced. I love Bean Traders!

Love Bean Traders! While we also frequent Starbucks on 55, we will stop that should Starbucks infringe on Bean Traders Homestead location.
